The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Chavez. No joy for Maya on that attempt.
A chopping leg kick lands by Chavez.
Chavez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Maya.
Good leg kick by Chavez there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Chavez, right into the meat.
Chavez explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Maya moves out of range of the leg kick from Chavez.

Chavez moves into range and clinches up with Maya.
Maya goes for a takedown in the clinch but Chavez prevents it.
Chavez Chavez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ra Maya.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Chavez.

It looks like Ra Maya has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chavez comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Chavez lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Chavez creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Maya's defenses.
Maya is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Chavez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Maya looks gassed!

That has opened up Ra Maya's cut even more.

Chavez lands an elbow that stopped Maya in his tracks for a moment.
Maya is trying to drag Chavez to the mat but Chavez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Chavez creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Maya's defenses.

The cut above Ra Maya's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Maya tries to score a body lock takedown but Chavez shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Maya takes an elbow to the forehead.
Chavez lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Ra Maya's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ra Maya's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
