Machulak kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gravediggaz - Diary Of A Madman . Jeff Ibanez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeff Ibanez!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machulak misses with a combination
and Ibanez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Ibanez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Machulak is trying to escape the position but Ibanez is controlling the position.
Ibanez is looking to take a break and control but Machulak is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Machulak is looking to regain half guard here but Ibanez keeps moving and retains side control.
Ibanez misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Machulak gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Machulak wants to get back to full guard.
Ibanez controlling the pace.
Ibanez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jeff Ibanez wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ibanez throws a right hand that Machulak ducks under and follows up with a left that Machulak also avoids with ease.
Machulak tries to clinch but Ibanez moves away

and Ibanez counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Ibanez throws a series of punches but Machulak avoids them all with ease.

Ibanez rushes Machulak and presses him up against the cage.

Ibanez manages to break the clinch.
Ibanez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ibanez misses with a head kick.
Machulak avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Ibanez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ibanez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ibanez has control of Machulak's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Machulak regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Machulak is desperately trying to improve his position but Ibanez has a good base and remains in mount.
Ibanez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Machulak is looking to escape.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Ibanez dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ibanez buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Ibanez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Ibanez slips a nice elbow through Machulak's hands, connecting with Machulak's forehead.

Machulak is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Ibanez is tapping! Great win for Machulak!
