Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tone Sonet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smith Wesson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith Wesson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sonet shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sonet showed some decent athleticism there.
Wesson is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Sonet tries to pass to full mount but Wesson defends it.
Wesson regains full guard. Nicely done.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wesson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wesson has momentary wrist control but Sonet slips an elbow through the middle.
Sonet knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wesson on the ground.

Wesson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sonet manages to get himself to full guard.

Sonet postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wesson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sonet, into his guard.

Sonet is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sonet on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sonet tries to get out of the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wesson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wesson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wesson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Wesson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Wesson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That was a close round but I would say that Tone Sonet will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fight stays on the outside here - Wesson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sonet closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Wesson circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Sonet drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Wesson follows Sonet to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
