11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bart Griffin! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin misses the jab. McFatty has his takedown stuffed and Griffin counters with a good low kick that McFatty was not able to check. McFatty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Griffin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. McFatty moves into range and connects with a jab. McFatty is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Griffin's half guard. McFatty thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Griffin's head. McFatty with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Griffin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. No, McFatty has managed to get both his arms back between Griffin's legs - danger averted. McFatty with a nice head shot there. McFatty trying to control the position from guard on top but Griffin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McFatty got a little sloppy there for a moment and Griffin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McFatty has managed to get both his arms back between Griffin's legs - danger averted. McFatty might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Griffin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. McFatty wants to control from the top but Griffin keeps moving. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Griffin wants to sweep here but McFatty controlling him for the moment. Griffin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McFatty doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position.
