Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Rizzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pedro Rizzo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pedro Rizzo!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bell closes the distance and clinches.
Rizzo blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Bell tries to score a body lock takedown but Rizzo shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Bell has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rizzo uses from the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bell wants to take a breather but Rizzo is having none of it.

Bell is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rizzo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bell.

Rizzo is trying to stand up here but Bell is controlling him well.

Rizzo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Bell is looking for a kimura but Rizzo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bell to get the leverage.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Bell is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rizzo has managed to free his arm - good work.
Bell thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rizzo's head.
Rizzo tries to get to full guard but Bell has control of the leg.
Bell is looking to take a break and control but Rizzo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bell prevents Rizzo from standing back up.

Bell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bell is trying to control. Rizzo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Rizzo drops Bell with a beautiful combination! Bell stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rizzo is looking for the KO!

Rizzo thows a body shot but no joy.
Nice takedown defense from Rizzo. No joy for Bell on that attempt.

Bell throws a lazy right hand but Rizzo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Carl Bell's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

and Bell counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rizzo can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Bell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rizzo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pedro Rizzo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rizzo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bell takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Rizzo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bell circles away quickly and effectively.
Rizzo's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Rizzo duly obliges.

Bell has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rizzo finds it's way round the side to connect with Bell's head.

Bell chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rizzo can pounce on him.
