Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Angry Angus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Riggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Angry Angus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rob Riggins!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riggins clinches up with Angus and pushes him back against the cage.
Angus drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Riggins connects with a nasty looking knee right to Angus's face.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Riggins.
Come on Riggins - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Riggins using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Angus has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Angus has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Riggins avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Riggins throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Angus can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Angry Angus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Angus drops down looking for an ankle pick but Riggins pulls his leg out and moves away.
Riggins wants to clinch but Angus slips to the side
letting Angus counter with a right hand.

and Angus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Nice sprawl there from Riggins as Angus shoots in.
Angus shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Riggins as he avoids it easily.

and Angus counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Angus throws and elbow that misses. Riggins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Angus's guard. Nice move by Riggins!

Angus manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Angus misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Angus throws a strike there. Riggins manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
Angus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Riggins keeps working.
Riggins is positioning himself well to prevent Angus advancing to mount.
Angus is trying to control. Riggins wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Angus is really struggling to control Riggins but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Angus thows a huge punch but Riggins dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Angry Angus wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Angus counters with a single leg into guard. Riggins didn't expect that.

Riggins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Riggins tries to clinch

and Angus decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Riggins's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Angus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Angus stops Riggins from standing up.

Angus is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Riggins is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Riggins has escaped and now he's on top!

Angus is pulling down on Riggins's head. It's preventing any offense from Riggins, at least for the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Riggins darts in trying to clinch

and Angus counters with a shoot takedown. Riggins fights it but they end up in guard.
Riggins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Angus manages to get himself to full guard.
Riggins wants to control from the top but Angus keeps moving.
Angus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Angus wants to improve his position but instead Riggins has moved into half guard.
Riggins seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Angus manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Angus wants to sweep here but Riggins controlling him for the moment.
Angus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Riggins is controlling him.
Angry Angus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Riggins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Riggins is breathing heavily.
Riggins tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Angus holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angry Angus dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Riggins tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Angus counters by clinching up.
Angus is working for takedown but Riggins is calmly controlling the position for now.
Angus is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Riggins lands an elbow just above Angus 's eye.
Angus goes for a takedown attempt but Riggins pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Angry Angus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Angus is looking to take a break and control but Riggins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rob Riggins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Angus moves into full mount!
Angus throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Riggins because Angus loaded up on that one.
Angus looking to control but Riggins is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Angus is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Riggins has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Riggins!

Angus looking to hit a scissor sweep but Riggins is one step ahead there.
Angus throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Angry Angus is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Angus bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Riggins's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Angry Angus showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Angus, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
