Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Draybil Guetzlaff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Jacobsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Draybil Guetzlaff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Jacobsen!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guetzlaff shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jacobsen's guard.
Guetzlaff trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Jacobsen keeping moving, preventing Guetzlaff from controlling successfully.
Jacobsen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Guetzlaff is stalling in the full guard.
Guetzlaff stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jacobsen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Thomas Jacobsen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Guetzlaff is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jacobsen is looking to advance position but Guetzlaff won't allow it.

Guetzlaff controls Jacobsen momentarily but Jacobsen frees himself.

Guetzlaff seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Jacobsen stands and throws Guetzlaff's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Guetzlaff manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Guetzlaff is looking for a triangle but Jacobsen pushes his legs off easily.

Jacobsen forces his way into half guard.
Jacobsen wants to get back to his feet.

Guetzlaff makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Guetzlaff.

Jacobsen wants to sweep here but Guetzlaff controlling him for the moment.

Guetzlaff wants to control from the top but Jacobsen keeps moving.
Guetzlaff is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Guetzlaff tries to free his leg and advance position but Jacobsen is retaining full guard.
Jacobsen wants to stand up but Guetzlaff is controlling him.
Jacobsen trying to keep a closed guard but Guetzlaff is proving a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Guetzlaff moves into the clinch.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Guetzlaff wants to pass the guard but Jacobsen is keeping the position.

Guetzlaff postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jacobsen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Guetzlaff, into his guard.
Jacobsen wants to control from the top but Guetzlaff keeps moving.
Jacobsen tries to free his leg and advance position but Guetzlaff is retaining full guard.

You can see the frustration on Guetzlaff's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Guetzlaff manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Jacobsen won't allow Guetzlaff to pass to mount.
Jacobsen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Guetzlaff is keen to just control but Jacobsen is a slippery customer.
Guetzlaff is just content to waste time from the top position. Jacobsen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Guetzlaff avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Guetzlaff passes into half guard.

Guetzlaff wants to free his trapped foot but Jacobsen is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jacobsen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jacobsen moves into full guard.
Draybil Guetzlaff overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jacobsen tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Guetzlaff not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Guetzlaff won't allow Jacobsen to sweep him here.
Jacobsen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guetzlaff's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Draybil Guetzlaff.
Guetzlaff tries to close the distance and clinch but Jacobsen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Guetzlaff is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Guetzlaff bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Guetzlaff rushes Jacobsen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jacobsen is trying to push Guetzlaff away but Guetzlaff has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Guetzlaff has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jacobsen clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Guetzlaff is looking to control Jacobsen but Jacobsen is wriggling around and keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacobsen feints and as Guetzlaff raises his hands in defense, Jacobsen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Guetzlaff controls Jacobsen momentarily but Jacobsen frees himself.
Jacobsen is looking to work some ground and pound but Guetzlaff has wrist control.

Jacobsen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guetzlaff swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Guetzlaff has his foot on Jacobsen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jacobsen works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jacobsen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jacobsen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well Guetzlaff has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
