And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, TJ LaRussa!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Moraes looks for a takedown but LaRussa sprawls well.
De Moraes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with LaRussa but LaRussa pushes him off and we're back to square one.
TJ LaRussa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
LaRussa comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A punch combination from LaRussa misses.
De Moraes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leonardo De Moraes. That's going to take a lot out of him.

LaRussa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with De Moraes, pushing him back against the cage.
De Moraes goes for a takedown attempt but LaRussa pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

De Moraes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts LaRussa as he jumps to the side.
De Moraes shoots in for a double leg but LaRussa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
De Moraes is breathing heavily.
LaRussa works De Moraes's body with a nice hook.
LaRussa scores with a body shot.

LaRussa takes the fight into the clinch.
LaRussa lands a left hand.
LaRussa lands an uppercut.
De Moraes changes levels and goes for a takedown here. LaRussa fights it off and pushes away nicely.
LaRussa thuds his right hand into De Moraes's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

A slapping body kick lands there for LaRussa.
LaRussa lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


De Moraes is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

De Moraes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in LaRussa's guard.
Oh De Moraes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

De Moraes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
LaRussa throws a couple of heel strikes.
LaRussa wants to stand but De Moraes is controlling the position.
De Moraes seems to have got his legs back now.
De Moraes slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

De Moraes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
LaRussa pushes De Moraes away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, De Moraes gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

De Moraes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. LaRussa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
LaRussa tries to improve position but can't.

De Moraes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by LaRussa, who protects the arm well.
LaRussa pushes De Moraes away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, De Moraes gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

De Moraes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, LaRussa has escaped the position, nice work there.
LaRussa is pushing De Moraes's head away, looking to escape. De Moraes manages to hold on to the position though.

De Moraes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but LaRussa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

De Moraes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
LaRussa gets back to half guard.

De Moraes is trying for a kimura here. LaRussa looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! De Moraes wins by kimura!
