PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Aronoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Hammet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Aronoff might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Here Comes the Pain by Slayer. Hammet has chosen Till I collapse as his entrance music. Mark Aronoff has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jacob Hammet!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammet moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Hammet moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Nice takedown defense from Hammet. No joy for Aronoff on that attempt.
Hammet swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Aronoff misses with a two punch combination.
Hammet falls off balance throwing a combination

and Aronoff decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hammet's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aronoff working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hammet's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Aronoff is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hammet keeping moving, preventing Aronoff from controlling successfully.
Aronoff with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Aronoff lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Aronoff is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hammet controls Aronoff momentarily but Aronoff frees himself.

Hammet keeping moving, preventing Aronoff from controlling successfully.
Hammet is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hammet is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Aronoff postures up and lands a big shot to Hammet's brow.
Aronoff advances position into side control!
Hammet takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Aronoff has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hammet is trying to get back to half guard.
Hammet is working to avoid the ground and pound but Aronoff connects with a decent elbow.
Hammet really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aronoff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Aronoff trying to control the position but Hammet is working away.

Aronoff is working to tighten is grip on Hammet's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Hammet has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Aronoff is really squeezing tight and eventually Hammet passes out! Aronoff breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
