Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Romano Schoots (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michel Rodalgo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodalgo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ace of Spades - By Motorhead kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Romano Schoots! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michel Rodalgo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schoots looks to land a combination but Rodalgo avoids it well. Rodalgo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schoots paws at him with a jab and circles away. Schoots slips a straight right by Rodalgo. Schoots fails to land with a series of punches.
Schoots misses with a jab, cross combination.
Schoots tries to clinch but fails miserably and Rodalgo counters with a shoot takedown. Schoots fights it but they end up in guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Schoots is on top in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Schoots thows a big elbow that misses. Schoots loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schoots trying to control but Rodalgo is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schoots is looking to stand up but Rodalgo won't let him. Schoots is looking to advance position but Rodalgo has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Schoots manages to regain half guard. Good work. Schoots is staying active underneath Rodalgo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rodalgo sitting and controlling from the half guard. Rodalgo is keen to just control but Schoots is a slippery customer. Rodalgo prevents Schoots from standing back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rodalgo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schoots keeps working. Rodalgo is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Schoots tries to land a sweep but no joy. Schoots keeping full guard, as Rodalgo tries to pass. Schoots lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rodalgo!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Schoots throws some wild stikes that Rodalgo manages to avoid easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rodalgo tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michel Rodalgo dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Schoots looks to score with a jab to the body but Rodalgo is just out of range. Schoots throws a combination that misses and Rodalgo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Schoots! Rodalgo with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Rodalgo goes for an armbar but Schoots turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Schoots. Schoots content to stall in guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodalgo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Schoots trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rodalgo's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rodalgo keeping full guard, as Schoots tries to pass. Schoots trying to control the position from guard on top but Rodalgo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rodalgo trying to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schoots trying to control but Rodalgo is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Romano Schoots. Schoots misses the shot to the body. Schoots swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rodalgo swats away the attempt to clinch by Schoots. Schoots lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Romano Schoots seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rodalgo slips under a jab. A combination from Schoots does no damage. Schoots throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Schoots misses with a shot to the body and Rodalgo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Schoots won't be happy with that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rodalgo is looking to take a break and control but Schoots is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Schoots is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rodalgo is controlling him well. Schoots tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Rodalgo presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Schoots keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michel Rodalgo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Schoots walks into a straight right hand from Rodalgo. Rodalgo is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Schoots. Rodalgo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Schoots throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rodalgo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schoots swivels though and keeps the full guard. Schoots wants to get back to his feet but Rodalgo is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Schoots bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rodalgo's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rodalgo trying to keep a closed guard but Schoots is proving a slippery customer.
Schoots looking to sit in guard and control but Rodalgo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Michel Rodalgo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rodalgo trying to control but Schoots is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rodalgo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Michel Rodalgo. Schoots swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Rodalgo jabbing away but nothing is landing. Schoots scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Schoots misses with a hook. Romano Schoots has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Schoots scores with a nice right hand.

and Rodalgo counters with a shoot takedown. Schoots fights it but they end up in guard. Rodalgo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Schoots is keeping the position for now. Rodalgo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
And that's the end of the fight! Michel Rodalgo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Rodalgo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
