Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ice Cube (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin O Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cube comes to the cage accompanied by Bow Down. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Justin O Reilly!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

O Reilly closes the distance and clinches.
O Reilly lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Ice Cube has been cut.
O Reilly's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Cube fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Cube tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. O Reilly just stands there and leans against the cage.
O Reilly lands a body shot.
Cube jumps guard but O Reilly stands there with Cube around his waist. Cube gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ice Cube. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cube takes an elbow to the forehead.

Cube tries to keep at a distance but O Reilly has taken the fight into the clinch.

and O Reilly counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by O Reilly.
O Reilly unloads a knee to the mid-section.
O Reilly scores with a knee to the head.

Cube tries to clinch but O Reilly moves away
and O Reilly counters with a series of strikes. Cube will be more careful next time no doubt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

O Reilly closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - O Reilly lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
O Reilly with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
O Reilly must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cube is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
O Reilly would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Cube bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in O Reilly's guard.

Cube is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cube wants to control from the top but O Reilly keeps moving.
Cube stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. O Reilly swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cubeis looking to pass into half guard but O Reilly pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now O Reilly is in guard.
O Reilly trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cube's guard.

Cube escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. O Reilly gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
O Reilly wants to control from the top but Cube keeps moving.
Cube looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
O Reilly wanted to stand there but Cube had control of the position.

Cube lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for O Reilly!

Cube working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. O Reilly turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Cube off and cradles O Reilly's limp body as Cube celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ice Cube!
