PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Egon Wildfang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Shankar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shankar has chosen "Them Belly Full" by Bob Marley as his entrance music. Andre Shankar told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wildfang throws a head kick that misses.
Wildfang shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shankar but Shankar pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Wildfang throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shankar's waist but Shankar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wildfang off to one side.
Wildfang tries for a takedown but Shankar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Shankar closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wildfang to the mat! Wildfang manages to get full guard.

Shankar drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wildfang dives on top into guard.

Andre Shankar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Shankar has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Wildfang off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Wildfang decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Andre Shankar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well Shankar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
