PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Rolston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sativa Sensei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sensei has chosen What if as his entrance music. Sativa Sensei told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Rolston misses.
A chopping leg kick lands by Sensei.
Sensei takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Sensei throws a front kick aimed at Rolston's knee but Rolston avoids it well.
Rolston falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sensei counters with a good low kick that Rolston was not able to check.
Rolston takes one to the chin there.
Sensei misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rolston.
A nice inside leg kick there by Sensei. That's going to slow Rolston down.
Rolston throws a body punch but Sensei moves out of range.

and Sensei counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sensei will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Good leg kick by Sensei there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Sensei counters with a leg kick.

and Sensei counters with an outside leg kick.
Sensei scores with a hook to the body. Rolston takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sensei throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Rolston's head.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Sensei ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Rolston is breathing heavily.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sensei, right into the meat.
Ricky Rolston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Sensei counters with a nice uppercut.
Nice uppercut lands for Sensei. That snapped Rolston's head back.

Sensei has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Sensei connects with a right hand. Rolston shakes it off.

Rolston on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sensei. Sensei obviously looking to wear him down.

Sensei has closed the distance and engaged Rolston in a clinch.
Sensei scores with a hook to the body.

Sensei scores with a shoulder strike.
Sensei lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Rolston backwards.
Sensei throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Rolstons head.
Sensei works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Sensei makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Sensei digs a right hand into Rolston's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Rolston's gas tank.
A nice left hand lands by Sensei.
Oh Rolston is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Rolston seems to have got his legs back now.

Sensei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sensei lands a jab to Rolston's midsection.
Rolston tries to move into range but Sensei moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Sensei connects with a solid leg kick.
Sensei lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rolston circles away quickly and effectively.
Sensei throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rolston on the side of the head.
A chopping leg kick lands by Sensei.
Sensei cracks Rolston with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Sensei throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rolston.
Sensei lands a jab to Rolston's midsection.
Sensei goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Sensei lands a jab-cross combination.
Sensei lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Rolston can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Sensei and Rolston drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Sensei.
