Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Bacon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Melendez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to El Coo Cooi . Jay Bacon is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bacon fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bacon tries to close the distance and clinch but Melendez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Melendez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jay Bacon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bacon wants to clinch up but Melendez keeps it at a distance.
Melendez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bacon takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Melendez swats away the attempt to clinch by Bacon.
Melendez jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bacon is looking to clinch but Melendez is avoiding it.
Bacon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Melendez finds it's way round the side to connect with Bacon's head.
Melendez catches Bacon with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Bacon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Melendez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Melendez.

Melendez thows a body shot but no joy.
Bacon tries to clinch up.
Melendez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bacon was covering up waiting for the punch and Melendez finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Bacon can't keep his opponent in guard - Melendez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Melendez is trying to control. Bacon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Melendez content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Melendez moves into full mount! Bacon won't be happy about that!

Melendez trying to control but Bacon is having none of it.
Melendez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bacon has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bacon!
Bacon won't allow Melendez to sweep him here.
Bacon wants to stand and escape but instead Melendez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Melendez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Melendez wants to control from the top but Bacon keeps moving.

Bacon is looking to stand up but Melendez isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Xavier Melendez wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Bacon wants to clinch up but Melendez keeps it at a distance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bacon is looking to clinch but Melendez is avoiding it.
Bacon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Melendez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bacon moves in looking to clinch but Melendez pushes him off.
Bacon gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Melendez.
Bacon stuffs the takedown.
Bacon tries to clinch there but Melendez circles away.
Bacon is looking to clinch.
Melendez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bacon manages to avoid it.
Bacon wants to clinch.
Nice body punch from Melendez.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Melendez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bacon did well to prevent Melendez getting side control.
Bacon is looking to escape.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Melendez lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bacon pushes Melendez off looking to stand but Melendez dives back in and keeps control.
Melendez uses his free foot to push down on Bacon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bacon.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Melendez tries to control but Bacon wriggling away.

Melendez trying to control but Bacon is having none of it.
Bacon is bucking up trying to escape but Melendez cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Melendez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bacon can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Bacon is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Bacon is breathing heavily.
Melendez putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Melendez in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Bacon is rocked!
Melendez softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Bacon is out cold! Melendez jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xavier Melendez!
