The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCartny moves into the clinch successfully.
McCartny wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sherstikov has him pressed against the cage.
Sherstikov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McCartny walks away with a smile on his face. Sherstikov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Sherstikov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

It looks like Benny McCartny has been cut.
McCartny slaps away a takedown attempt from Sherstikov, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Sherstikov goes for a takedown attempt but McCartny pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

McCartny has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McCartny takes Sherstikov's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Sherstikov is in trouble.

McCartny has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Sherstikov! Can he survive? No! He's out! McCartny gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
