PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jebediah Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Moss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Reed might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sailor man. Paul Moss will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jebediah Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Moss!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Reed does no damage.
Moss bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Moss has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Reed can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Moss can do anything to dispel that myth.
Moss utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Moss manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Reed manages to get himself to full guard.

and Reed counters with a nice uppercut.

Reed shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Moss but Moss pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Moss connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Reed momentarily.

Reed is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Reed throws a lazy right hand but Moss sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Moss lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Nice straight punches there by Moss. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Moss.

Moss drops down looking for an ankle pick but Reed pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Reed counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A left and a right from Moss both land. Nice combination.
Reed goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Moss tries to kick Reed off but Reed keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Reed looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Moss with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well Reed has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
