Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Masato Kobayashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herb Hurt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurt circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hurt blocks a head kick by Kobayashi.
Hurt looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hurt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kobayashi looks for the body kick but Hurt saw that one coming.
Hurt avoids the head kick by Kobayashi.

Hurt lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hurt.

Kobayashi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hurt.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hurt connects with a nice short shot to Kobayashi's temple.

Hurt has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Kobayashi is trying to keep an underhook but Hurt manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hurt gets to his feet - Kobayashi follows without any prompting.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hurt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kobayashi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Hurt is working for a kimura but Kobayashi is defending it quite comfortably.
Hurt thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kobayashi's head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hurt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Kobayashi moves in looking to clinch but Hurt pushes him off.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kobayashi.

Kobayashi thuds his shin into the meat of Hurt's side.
Hurt has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Kobayashi.
Kobayashi moves in looking to clinch but Hurt pushes him off.

Hurt has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kobayashi.
Hurt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kobayashi sprawls well. Kobayashi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hurt gets slowly back to his feet.

Hurt goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Kobayashi is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Hurt is working to tighten is grip on Kobayashi's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kobayashi has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hurt is really squeezing tight and eventually Kobayashi passes out! Hurt breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
