PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Hand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hand might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bloody Pimp. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dan Hand! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rocky Balboa! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balboa pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Balboa throws a right and a left that both miss. Hand scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Hand dodges the punch combination from Balboa.

Hand punishes Balboa's body with a nice straight punch. A lazy left from Hand finds it's target. Some wild striking there from Balboa.
Hand uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Balboa.
Hand lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Hand scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Balboa doesn't seem bothered though. A punch combination from Balboa misses. Balboa throws a looping overhand right but Hand ducks down to avoid it. A left lands for Balboa. Hand smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Hand moves away from the strike by Balboa. Hand ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Jab from Hand.
It looks like Rocky Balboa has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hand misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Balboa walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Hand scores with a three punch combo!

That's one minute gone in the round. Hand lands a jab to Balboa's midsection. Hand fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Balboa on the side of the head. Balboa misses with a double jab
and Hand counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Balboa ducks right into an uppercut from Hand. Hand lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Hand jabs Balboa to the body, keeping him at a distance. Hand bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Balboa's head. Hand works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Hand with a hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Balboa takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Hand throws a good cross that connects.
Balboa takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Hand bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Danga de danga de dang - Hand scores with a four punch combination! Hand jabs at Balboa's body. Hand fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hand throws a series of strikes that have Balboa backpedaling.
Hand stuns Balboa with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Hand displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. A jab from Hand does it's job there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hand fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Hand digs a good body shot into Balboa's ribs. Balboa takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Balboa is rocked! Balboa takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Balboa is still on wobbly legs! Can Hand finish him? Hand uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Hand is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Balboa is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Hand moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Hand!
