Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Heartman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Sanches (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heartman comes to the ring accompanied by Heartman Theme song. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Heartman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felipe Sanches!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanches is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sanches moves in looking to clinch but Heartman pushes him off.
Sanches is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Heartman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sanches sprawls well initially but Heartman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sanches is trying to get back to full guard.
Heartman keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Sanches kicks Heartman off and gets back to his feet.

Heartman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Sanches looks like he's trying to stand up.

Heartman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sanches defends it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Heartman sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Heartman prevents Sanches from standing back up.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Heartman stands up from half guard.

Heartman gets the takedown into side control.

Heartman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Heartman controlling the position from side mount.
Heartman seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sanches for as long as he can get away with.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Heartman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Heartman is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Heartman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because John Heartman just wasn't active enough.

Heartman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sanches tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Heartman is in Sanches's guard.
Heartman controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Heartman passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Heartman dominated that round.
That's time! Heartman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Heartman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanches's waist but Sanches gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Heartman off to one side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sanches looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Felipe Sanches seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heartman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sanches sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Heartman somewhat.
Sanches is looking to land body kicks.

Sanches fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Heartman, pushing him back against the ropes.

Heartman manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Heartman lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sanches!
Sanches is squirming around, avoiding Heartman's attempts to control the action.
Heartman thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Heartman looking to control but Sanches is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Heartman manages to capitalize on a mistake by Sanches to take his back!
Heartman is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Heartman has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Sanches is defending well but eventually Heartman manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Sanches has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). John Heartman!
