The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
David throws a right and a left that Hioko avoids nicely.
A punch combination from Hioko misses.
David throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hioko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hioko uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from David.
David buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
David takes a body punch but keeps moving.
David throws a sloppy head kick and Hioko moves out of range easily.
Hioko thumps David with a low kick.
David circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hioko thows a body shot but no joy.
David on the wrong end of a nice jab.

David throws a lazy right hand but Hioko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

David takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Hioko scores with a jab. David acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
David misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hioko.

Hioko thuds a left hand into David's body.
Hioko takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Hioko looks to land a left hand but David moved out of range nicely.
David misses with a few strikes there.
David drops his hands momentarily and Hioko takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
David lands an overhand right.
David gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

David looks to land a body kick but Hioko moved away.
Asaki Hioko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A chopping leg kick lands by Hioko.
David throws a hook to the side of Hioko's head but Hioko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hioko lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
David tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hioko was well out of range. Poor timing from David.
David clobbers Hioko with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Hioko has closed the distance and engaged David in a clinch.
David wants to stall.
Hioko softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.
Hioko goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
David is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Hioko working hard to break the clinch.
David works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
David lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hioko backwards.
David blocks a body shot from Hioko.
Hioko can't find room to land a body shot as David controls the action.
Hioko struggles to land a body shot inside as David controls his hands.
David has had enough of the clinch but Hioko keeps him there for the moment.

David lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

David throws a good cross that connects.

David feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hioko sprawling to the canvas! Hioko rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can David finish him?!

Oh Hioko is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
David throws a sloppy head kick and Hioko moves out of range easily.
Hioko throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hioko throws a low kick but it's checked well by David.

David lands a big right hand that sends Hioko crashing to the mat! David stays standing though and waves Hioko back to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
David throws a jab when Hioko was well out of range.

Hioko uses good head movement to avoid the hook from David.
Hioko throws a sloppy head kick and David moves out of range easily.
David cracks Hioko with a hook to the temple - Hioko is on wobbly legs here! David swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Hioko falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! David wins by TKO!
