Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Dasher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Fritz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Fritz's choice of entrance music: Metallica - Enter Sandman . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fritz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dasher is fending him off so far but Fritz persists. Nope, Dasher circles away and we're back to standing.
Fritz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dasher.
Fritz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dasher as he jumps to the side.

Fritz gets a takedown into half guard.

Fritz is looking for a kimura but Dasher is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fritz to get the leverage.
Fritz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dasher with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fritz missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Fritz thows a huge punch but Dasher dodges it nicely.

Fritz is trying to work for a kimura but Dasher is defending well.
Fritz is keen to just control but Dasher is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dasher preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dasher is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Fritz jumps into side control!

Fritz has an Americana. Dasher didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fritz is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fritz hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
