Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Rockheart!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Rockheart throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rockheart is looking to clinch.

Rockheart doesn't manage to clinch there - Pasano circles away.
Pasano circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pasano wants to clinch up but Rockheart keeps it at a distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Pasano counters with a takedown into side control.
Rockheart takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Pasano postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Rockheart is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Pasano is controlling him well.

Rockheart parries the strikes from Pasano easily there. Pasano is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rockheart to escape.

Rockheart is not content to let Pasano control the position.

Pasano is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rockheart's shoulder. That is not cool.

Rockheart is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pasano asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Pasano is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rockheart is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Rockheart tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pasano manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pasano connects with a nice short shot to Rockheart's temple.

Pasano will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Pasano can't control as he wanted to and Rockheart manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

That's time! Pasano's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Pasano shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rockheart sprawls well. Rockheart wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pasano gets slowly back to his feet.

James Rockheart has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jon Pasano is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Pasano looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rockheart accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pasano looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rockheart is one step ahead there.
Pasano has his hands on Rockheart's head, controlling the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. James Rockheart hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Rockheart tries to clinch but Pasano moves away
and Pasano counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pasano slaps away a takedown attempt from Rockheart, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pasano is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pasano, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
