The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
BJJ tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but SilvA paws at him with a jab and circles away.
BJJ shoots in looking for a takedown. SilvA tries to sprawl out of it but BJJ keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. SilvA manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

SilvA closes the distance and clinches.
SilvA stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
SilvA comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
BJJ tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. SilvA smiles and moves away.
SilvA throws a quick inside leg kick.
BJJ takes one to the chin there.
Hilo BJJ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
SilvA changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
BJJ shoots in looking for a takedown. SilvA tries to sprawl out of it but BJJ keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. SilvA manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Royce SilvA has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hilo BJJ.
A nice leg kick lands there from SilvA.

BJJ tries to clinch up
and SilvA counters with a nice uppercut.
A nice inside leg kick there by SilvA. That's going to slow BJJ down.
SilvA misses with an attempted mid kick.
SilvA lands a jab to the nose.

BJJ has taken the fight to the clinch.
BJJ tries to pull guard but SilvA holds him up against the cage and eventually BJJ drops back down to his feet.

BJJ is looking to regain half guard here but SilvA keeps moving and retains side control.
SilvA wants to control but BJJ is keeping him busy.
BJJ is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
BJJ is refusing to be controlled, as SilvA sits in half guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

BJJ is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but SilvA pulls his head out easily.

SilvA drops an elbow to the side of BJJ's head.
SilvA performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
SilvA seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but BJJ does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
BJJ throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
BJJ is looking for a sweep. SilvA is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
SilvA wants to lay and pray for a moment but BJJ keeps working.
SilvA takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Royce SilvA just wasn't active enough.
SilvA connects with a nice looking jab.
BJJ doesn't succeed with the takedown
and SilvA counters with a three punch combo that has BJJ backing up. BJJ nods at SilvA to acknowledge the strikes.

SilvA scores with a jab to the jaw.
BJJ closes the distance but SilvA moves to the side
and SilvA counters with an outside leg kick.
SilvA lands a leg kick that knocks BJJ off balance momentarily.
BJJ avoids the body shot from SilvA.
SilvA lands a body shot.
BJJ takes one to the chin there.
BJJ throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A good leg kick by SilvA.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
BJJ misses with a takedown
and SilvA counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps BJJ thinking.
Royce SilvA is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
BJJ looks gassed!
BJJ clinches but SilvA breaks the clinch
and SilvA counters with a good low kick that BJJ was not able to check.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Royce SilvA dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

SilvA with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
BJJ tries to clinch but fails miserably
and SilvA counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
BJJ misses with a takedown
and SilvA counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

SilvA closes the distance and pushes BJJ back into the cage.
SilvA working some nice short punches in the clinch.
BJJ takes a knee to the side of the body.
SilvA gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

It looks like Hilo BJJ has been cut.
SilvA has BJJ pressed against the cage.
SilvA lands an elbow inside that BJJ shrugs off.

BJJ is rocked!
SilvA lands an elbow just above BJJ 's eye.
BJJ is still on wobbly legs! Can SilvA finish him?

SilvA works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
SilvA advances position into side control!
SilvA working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
BJJ is breathing heavily.
SilvA takes a little break here. BJJ wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

SilvA is chipping away with strikes.
BJJ is trying to escape the position but SilvA is controlling the position.
BJJ seems to have recovered his senses.
BJJ looking for a sweep but SilvA has passed into full mount! Oh no!
The referee warns BJJ that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, SilvA cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
SilvA takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
SilvA has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

SilvA has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of BJJ's face.
SilvA is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and BJJ goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for SilvA!
