The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanner tries to clinch but Lowery moves out of range.
Tanner dives in and grabs Lowery's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lowery pushes down on Tanner's head and hops out.

Tanner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lowery, pushing him back against the cage.
Lowery is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Tanner pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Lowery tries to score a body lock takedown but Tanner shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Lowery drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tanner pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Lowery. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tanner fails with an attempt to clinch.

Lowery tries to sprawl but Tanner drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Lowery is looking for a sweep. Tanner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tanner lands with a punch from half guard.

Lowery is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tanner pulls his head out easily.

Lowery has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Tanner. Oh but Lowery has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Tanner goes limp - he's gone! Lowery jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
