Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Padgett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Padgett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Connor!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Connor shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Padgett is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Connor pulls his head out easily.
Connor prevents Padgett from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Padgett is looking to control Connor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Padgett avoid being mounted?
Padgett is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Padgett is defending against the submission attempts here by Connor.
Connor wants to pass the guard but Padgett is defending well.
Padgett is trying to control but can't.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Connor counters with a nice double leg into side control. Padgett won't be happy with that.

Padgett is looking to reverse the position.
Connor trying to control the action but Padgett is working from the bottom.
Padgett sneaks back into half guard.
Padgett regains full guard. Nicely done.

Connor has gone for a leg lock! Padgett slips out almost immediately though and dives into Connor's guard.

Connor looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Connor looks gassed!
Padgett is stalling in the full guard.
Padgett trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Padgett trying to control but Connor is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Connor has his takedown stuffed
and Padgett counters with a head kick. That will keep Connor thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Connor tries to keep at a distance but Padgett has taken the fight into the clinch.
Padgett prevents a takedown attempt there.
Connor tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dan Connor will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Padgett misses with a series of wild punches.
Padgett misses with a wild combination.
Padgett wants to clinch up but Connor keeps it at a distance.
Connor with a poor takedown
and Padgett counters with a good low kick that Connor was not able to check.

Padgett scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Connor has a hand on Padgett's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Padgett takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Padgett working for a guillotine from mount but Connor is in no mood to give up.
Padgett trying to control but Connor is having none of it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Connor flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Connor is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Padgett lands a heavy elbow.
Padgett wants to control the pace but Connor is squirming around nicely.
Connor is trying to escape the mount.

Padgett goes for an armbar but Connor turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Connor.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Connor thows a big elbow that misses.
Connor tries to free his leg and advance position but Padgett is retaining full guard.
Padgett wants to sweep here but Connor controlling him for the moment.
Connor passes into half guard.
Connor is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Connor working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Padgett turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Connor off and cradles Padgett's limp body as Connor celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Dan Connor!
