PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rudy Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kick out the Jams by The MC5s. Rudy Perry has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rudy Perry!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but Perry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rudy Perry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perry closes the distance and clinches up with Lee, looking for a takedown. Perry pushes Lee against the cage but Lee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lee leaves Perry with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rufus Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rudy Perry.
Perry tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Perry somewhat.

Lee is working to avoid the ground and pound but Perry connects with a decent elbow.
Perry creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lee sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Lee holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Perry lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Perry fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Perry is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Lee is trying to escape and Perry transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Lee is forced to tap! Nice work there by Perry! Very nice indeed!
