The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valtamo throws a nice looking combination but Nunes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Valtamo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nunes circles away quickly and effectively.
No joy there for Valtamo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nunes.
Valtamo displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Valtamo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nunes slips a jab and a cross from Valtamo.
Jari Valtamo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nunes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Valtamo but Valtamo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jari Valtamo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Nunes.
Nunes fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nunes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Valtamo's waist but Valtamo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nunes off to one side.
Valtamo stalks Nunes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nunes's face. Nunes staggers backwards, shaken.
Valtamo lands with a big left! Nunes is wobbled badly! Valtamo comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Nunes to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
