Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santana is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lambada. Victor Santana will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askren has a takedown stuffed.

Askren wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santana keeps working.

Santana bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Askren's guard.

Askren is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Santana is aware though and is defending well.

Santana is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Askren is just riding it out for now. Santana eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Askren is looking for a triangle but Santana pushes his legs off easily.

Askren has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Askren connects with a nice short shot to Santana's temple.
