PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Torquemada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trace Bradley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Torquemada comes to the cage accompanied by Anthrax - 1000 Points of Hate. The crowd seem to be enjoying Bradley's choice of entrance music: Beautiful Music For You to Die Too. Trace Bradley will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bradley lands a nice looking body shot.
Bradley misses with a hook. Torquemada ducked under it nicely.
Torquemada uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bradley.
Donk. Bradley catches Torquemada right on the button with a cross.
Torquemada looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Torquemada needs to keep his hands up - Bradley had a free shot at his head there.
Bradley fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Bradley lands with a nice combination. Torquemada backs away looking to recover.

This has been an exciting period of action!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Torquemada. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Horrible takedown by Torquemada or perhaps it was just good defense by Bradley which made him look bad.

Torquemada shoots in and drives through. Bradley sprawls well.
Bradley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Torquemada manages to avoid it.
Bradley fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Torquemada is out of range.
Bradley throws an overhand right that lands on Torquemada's shoulder, as Torquemada tries to avoid the shot.

Torquemada drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Torquemada is looking to take a break and control but Bradley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Torquemada tries to score with some ground and pound. Bradley controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Torquemada wants to free his trapped foot but Bradley is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Torquemada looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Torquemada has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bradley gets back to full guard.
Bradley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Torquemada stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bradley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Trace Bradley hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Torquemada wants to finish this one by submission but Bradley is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Torquemada.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Torquemada throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Bradley has his hands clasped together but Torquemada breaks the hold and Bradley is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Torquemada!
