Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marco Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Haminall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marshall might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Graduation Bitches. Haminall has chosen The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkle as his entrance music. Matt Haminall acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marco Marshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Haminall!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marshall shoots in and gets a takedown into Haminall's guard.
Haminall wants to sweep here but Marshall controlling him for the moment.
Marshall looking to pass the guard.
Haminall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Marshall preventing the sweep.
Haminall pulls Marshall in close to his closed guard and prevents Marshall from doing any damage or advancing position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Marshall in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Haminall keeping moving, preventing Marshall from controlling successfully.
Marshall tries to free his leg and advance position but Haminall is retaining full guard.
Marshall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Haminall throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Marshall tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Haminall is in Marshall's guard.

Haminall drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Haminall jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Marshall throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Marshall trying to keep a closed guard but Haminall is proving a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marshall is adopting a defensive guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Haminall's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Marshall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Marshall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Haminall keeps working.

Haminall kicks Marshall off and gets back to his feet.

and Haminall counters with a shoot takedown. Marshall fights it but they end up in guard.
Haminall lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marshall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Marshall looking for a guillotine here but Haminall defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Haminall missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Haminall with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Haminall is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Haminall trying to control the position from guard on top but Marshall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Haminall content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Marshall manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Haminall manages to get himself to full guard.
Haminall utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Haminall has Marshall pulled in close to control his posture.
Marshall connects with a couple of short punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Haminall controls Marshall momentarily but Marshall frees himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Marco Marshall just wasn't active enough.

Marshall gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Haminall wants to control from the top but Marshall keeps moving.

Marshall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Haminall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Haminall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Haminall content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Haminall pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marshall is keeping the position for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marshall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Haminall is one step ahead there.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Haminall dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Haminall must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Haminall distracts Marshall with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Oh Marshall is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Haminall postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Marshall covers up, he's hurt! Haminall keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Haminall and the ref steps in to end the fight! Haminall can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matt Haminall!
