PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zak Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ake Bertilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bertilson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Andreas Tilliander - Arlanda kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bertilson is trying to defend but Anderson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bertilson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Anderson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bertilson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Anderson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Anderson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bertilson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bertilson!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Bertilson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Anderson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bertilson is refusing to be controlled, as Anderson sits in half guard.
Anderson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Still in half guard, Anderson seems content to control.
Anderson is trying to control the action in half guard but Bertilson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Zak Anderson.

Bertilson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Anderson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bertilson is trying to control but can't.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Anderson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Anderson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Anderson.
Bertilson delivers a nice body kick.

Zak Anderson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Anderson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
