PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yoshimitsu Tajiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Seeper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tajiri might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Asiattacker by Jim Johnston. Seeper has chosen "Cemetary Gates - Pantera as his entrance music. Michael Seeper has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Yoshimitsu Tajiri's chin.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seeper shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Seeper closes the distance and clinches up with Tajiri, looking for a takedown. Seeper pushes Tajiri against the cage but Tajiri circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Seeper has gone for a leg lock! Tajiri slips out almost immediately though and dives into Seeper's guard.
Seeper wants to stand up but Tajiri is controlling him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Seeper can do anything to dispel that myth.

Tajiri is looking to take a break and control but Seeper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Tajiri lands a nice short elbow.
Tajiri looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Seeper with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Seeper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tajiri. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Seeper must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Seeper drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tajiri looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tajiri looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tajiri!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Seeper is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Tajiri knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Tajiri for a finish.

Seeper throws a nice looking combination but Tajiri bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Seeper changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tajiri tries to avoid it but Seeper manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tajiri to the ground. Tajiri escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

so Seeper counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Seeper postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Seeper is fighting to break Tajiri's control of his arms but Tajiri is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Seeper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tajiri swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Seeper drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Tajiri dives on top into guard.

Michael Seeper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
