Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sami Vasara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Silva's choice of entrance music: Shoot em' up. Sami Vasara had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Sami Vasara has been cut.
Vasara avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vasara rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Silva keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Silva lands a body shot.
Silva moves out of range as Vasara strikes.
Silva tries to clinch up.

Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vasara swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vasara throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
The fighters circle momentarily. Silva darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vasara swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Silva keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Vasara's efforts to push away.

Vasara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Vasara misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva moves out of range of the strikes.
Vasara misses with an uppercut. Silva saw that one coming.
Vasara throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vasara throws a head kick that Silva semi-blocks.

Vasara takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Silva fails in his attempt to clinch.
Vasara uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Silva has time to react.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva tries for a takedown but Vasara circles away easily
and Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Silva gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Vasara finish him?
Vasara lands a big head kick that sends Silva to the canvas! Vasara follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
