MMA has chosen Im Shipping Up To Boston as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MMA misses with an uppercut.
MMA cracks Paino with a right hand to the side of the head.
MMA misses with a wild body shot.
MMA throws a hook but Paino blocks it.
Paino looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
MMA works over Paino's head and body with a nice combination.
Paino fails with an attempt to clinch.
Paino swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and MMA counters with a nice leg kick.
Paino lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
MMA throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
MMA fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Paino manages to avoid it.
MMA misses the jab.
Yli Paino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Paino. MMA does a little dance to reset his feet.

Paino scores a takedown into full mount!
Paino lands with some strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Paino misses with a head shot.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
MMA wants to hold on but Paino pushes him away.
MMA keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Paino knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for MMA on the ground.
Paino throws some wild stikes that MMA manages to avoid easily.
Paino thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Paino takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A nice elbow there by Paino.
Paino wants to control the pace but MMA is squirming around nicely.
MMA tries to lock up and control but Paino gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Paino with shots to the head and body - MMA looks very uncomfortable down there.
MMA is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
MMA wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Paino.
BOOM! Paino connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Paino pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Paino has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of MMA's face.

MMA is bucking up trying to escape but Paino cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
