PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Branislav Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Boyka looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Boyka tries to close the distance and clinch but Tyler swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tyler tries to clinch but Boyka is having none of it.
Boyka looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tyler shoots in but no luck this time.

Boyka fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tyler sprawls well initially but Boyka persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tyler is breathing heavily.

Boyka escapes and gets back to his feet.
Boyka wants to clinch up but Tyler keeps it at a distance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tyler wants to break the clinch but can't.
Boyka lands with a light punch inside.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Boyka.

Boyka decides to stand back up. Boyka steps back and let's Tyler get back to his feet.

Boyka closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tyler to the mat! Tyler manages to get full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Boyka jumps guard and drags Tyler to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Boyka is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Boyka is looking for a triangle but Tyler pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boyka is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Boyka has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tyler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tyler is nestled in close to Boyka, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Boyka misses with a takedown
and Tyler counters with a big head kick but Boyka shrugs it off.
Boyka throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tyler's waist but Tyler gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Boyka off to one side.
No luck for Tyler with that takedown attempt.
Boyka throws a right hand that Tyler ducks under and follows up with a left that Tyler also avoids with ease.
Boyka ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tyler moves away.
Boyka tries for a takedown but Tyler sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Boyka is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tyler knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tyler is not content to let Boyka control the position.
Boyka throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Boyka is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tyler defends it well.

Branislav Boyka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
