Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter comes into the arena with The DOC vs Earshot blaring out of the sound system. Jackson has chosen Patiently Waiting as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Curtis Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a quick inside leg kick.
Hunter checks a leg kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Hunter checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Jackson is looking to chop away at Hunter's legs.
Hunter blocks a leg kick.
Hunter blocks a low kick nicely.
Hunter chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jackson can pounce on him.

Jackson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Jackson lands with a kick to the temple. Hunter shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Jackson throws a front kick aimed at Hunter's knee but Hunter avoids it well.

Jackson throws out a leg kick but Hunter moves out of range and Jackson only half commits.

Jackson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Jackson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jackson, right into the meat.

Hunter blocks a head kick by Jackson.
Hunter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jackson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hunter if he has to take too many more of those.

Hunter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hunter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.

Hunter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hunter chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jackson can pounce on him.

Jackson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hunter. That did some damage!

Jackson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hunter is out of range and Jackson settles back down.

Hunter on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jackson. Jackson obviously looking to wear him down.
Jackson is looking to score with low kicks.
Jackson looks for the body kick but Hunter saw that one coming.
Curtis Jackson seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hunter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jackson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hunter is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Curtis Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jackson feints and then cracks Hunter's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hunter down.

Jackson is staying active underneath Hunter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hunter works his way into full mount!

Hunter is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jackson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jackson!
Jake Hunter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Hunter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I've got Jackson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
