Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bad Boy Bernie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruben Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santana is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Forever. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santana doesn't manage to clinch there - Bernie circles away.
Santana jabs Bernie right on the nose. Bernie blinks but takes it well.
Bernie misses with a low kick.
Bernie chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Ruben Santana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santana pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bernie chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Santana can pounce on him.
Santana fails in his attempt to clinch.

Bernie stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Santana looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Santana is looking to clinch but Bernie is avoiding it.

Santana gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bernie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Santana won't be happy with that.

Bernie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santana keeps working.
Santana tries to bench press Bernie off him but Bernie keeps the position.
Bernie tries to move into full mount but can't pass Santana's legs.
Bernie is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Santana throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

and Santana counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bernie's knee momentarily.

Bernie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Santana, pushing him back against the cage.
Bernie lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Bernie lands an elbow just above Santana 's eye.
Bernie digs a right hand into Santana's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Santana's gas tank.
Bernie lands a good knee to the midsection. Santana won't want to take too many of those.
Bernie lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Bernie drags the fight down to the ground.
Santana wants to control from the top but Bernie keeps moving.
Bernie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Santana got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bernie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Santana has managed to get both his arms back between Bernie's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Bernie counters with a nice low kick that buckles Santana's knee momentarily.

Santana gets control of Bernie's arms and successfully pulls guard. Santana will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Bernie is pushing down on Santana's leg trying to pass to half guard. Santana is fighting to maintain full guard but Bernie has managed to sneak the leg through.
Santana has his hands clasped together around Bernie's back. He's all about the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santana pushes Bernie off looking to stand but Bernie dives back in and keeps control.
