PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leon Kaiser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Sushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kaiser might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Been There Done That. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaiser tries to work over Sushi's front leg with a kick but Sushi checks it.
Kaiser misses with a double jab.
Kaiser staying out of range there.
Sushi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sushi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Sushi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kaiser throws a series of punches but Sushi moves out of range.

Sushi clinches up with Kaiser and pushes him back against the cage.
Sushi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kaiser pushes Sushi back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Yoshi Sushi has been cut.
Sushi misses with some punches.
Sushi with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Kaiser is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sushi is keeping busy.

Sushi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sushi gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sushi keeps Kaiser at a distance using the push kick.

Kaiser is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sushi.
Sushi takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Sushi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Kaiser wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sushi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Sushi's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Kaiser is working Sushi over against the cage.

Sushi throws a punch but it's blocked by Kaiser.
Kaiser throws a knee to the head but misses.
Kaiser looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Sushi misses with an elbow strike.

Sushi throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Sushi has Kaiser pressed against the cage.
Kaiser wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kaiser unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Sushi throws a knee to the head but misses.
Sushi misses with some punches.

Kaiser's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sushi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kaiser.
Sushi throws a body kick that misses.
Sushi checks a low kick from Kaiser.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sushi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kaiser throws out the jab.

Kaiser scores with a hook to the body. Sushi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Sushi is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kaiser lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Crunch! Kaiser slams his shin into Sushi's torso.

Kaiser throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Sushi's head.

That has opened up Yoshi Sushi's cut even more.

and Kaiser counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sushi's knee momentarily.
Kaiser throws a combination. Sushi tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

The cut above Yoshi Sushi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kaiser is looking to slow Sushi down with leg kicks.
Kaiser misses with a series of wild punches.
Kaiser scores with a kick to the midsection.

Yoshi Sushi's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Sushi throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Sushi wants to clinch.

Sushi's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
