Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Stann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Ivan Escalante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escalante tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stann swivels and escapes.
Escalante shoots in but no luck this time.
Escalante misses with a straight right.
Stann swats away the attempt to clinch by Escalante.
Escalante is looking to clinch.
Escalante shoots in for a takedown but Stann shows good takedown defense.
Dan Stann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pedro Ivan Escalante.
Escalante misses with a hook.
Escalante misses with a takedown attempt - Stann sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

It looks like Pedro Ivan Escalante has been cut.

Stann instigates a clinch.
Escalante tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stann avoids it.

Stann pulls guard effortlessly.

Stann is looking for a triangle but Escalante pushes his legs off easily.

Stann keeping full guard, as Escalante tries to pass.

Stann had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Escalante defends it easily.

Stann has his foot on Escalante's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Escalante works his way back into a safe position though.
Stann is breathing heavily.

Escalante got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stann has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Escalante has managed to get both his arms back between Stann's legs - danger averted.
Escalante is looking to work some ground and pound but Stann has wrist control.
Escalante content to stall in guard here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Escalante lands with a kick to the temple. Stann shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Stann circles away from the clinch attempt

and Stann counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Escalante!

Escalante is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stann winds up and cracks Escalante with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Escalante is still in real trouble! Can Stann finish him?
Stann is nestled in close to Escalante, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Escalante really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stann. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stann lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Escalante! More strikes land and this one is all over! Stann jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
