PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brendan Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dutch Schaeffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reilly comes to the cage accompanied by Toss the Feathers. Schaeffer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by All Along the Watchtower. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reilly tries to close the distance and clinch but Schaeffer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Reilly throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Reilly digs a good body shot into Schaeffer's ribs.

Schaeffer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Schaeffer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Reilly is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Schaeffer, into his guard.
