And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kick Flip!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Flip sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Olson somewhat.

Flip decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Flip controlling the action here.
Olson is trying to stand up here but Flip is controlling him well.
Flip looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Olson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Flip sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Let's hope that Flip has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kick Flip.
Flip blocks a head kick by Olson.
Olson tries to clinch up but Flip circles away and keeps his distance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Olson misses with a head kick.
Olson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Olson connects with a high kick.

and Flip decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Olson's guard.
Olson is breathing heavily.

Flip's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kick Flip.

Flip closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Olson did well to prevent Flip getting side control.
Well, if Flip is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kick Flip.
Olson throws a hook but Flip blocks it.
Olson throws a sloppy head kick

and Flip counters with a nice double leg into side control. Olson won't be happy with that.

Kick Flip dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Olson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Chael Olson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

and Flip counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Olson!

Kick Flip has got the better of the ground game so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Kick Flip just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kick Flip showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Olson is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Flip is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Olson throws a head kick that misses

and Flip decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Olson's guard.
Flip is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kick Flip.

Flip changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Olson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Olson pushes Flip away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Flip gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Flip looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kick Flip is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Chael Olson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kick Flip comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
