Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kris Killa!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Haynes!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Killa misses its intended target.

Killa clinches up with Haynes and pushes him back against the cage.
A hook to the body from Killa.
Killa is trying to drag Haynes to the mat but Haynes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Haynes stalling in the clinch but Killa improves position.
A body shot lands from Killa.
Haynes stalling.
Haynes looking to stall.
Killa holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Killa lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Haynes is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Haynes seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks.
Killa lands a body shot.
Killa lands a left hand.
Killa lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Haynes is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Killa is keeping busy.
Haynes gets underhooks to prevent Killa's takedown attempt.
Killa pushes Haynes back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Killa's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Killa tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kris Killa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Killa.
Haynes looking to stall.
Haynes stalling.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Brandon Haynes.
Killa moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Some wild striking there from Haynes.

Killa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Haynes to the mat! Haynes manages to get full guard.
Killa postures up.

Killa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Haynes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Killa has Haynes in his guard.
Killa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Killa pulls Haynes in close to his closed guard and prevents Haynes from doing any damage or advancing position.

Killa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Haynes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Killa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Haynes trying to control the position from guard on top but Killa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Haynes's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Killa wants to sweep here but Haynes controlling him for the moment.
Haynes trying to control but Killa is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Killa is trying to keep Haynes in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Haynes has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Haynes there as he acknowledges the shot.
Killa works the jab nicely.

Killa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Killa throwing strikes but missing.
Haynes is trying to control the position but Killa postures up.
Killa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Haynes looking for a sweep. Not yet Haynes, not yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Haynes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Killa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haynes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Killa prevents Haynes from getting back to his feet.
Killa trying to control but Haynes is working from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Haynes pivots, looking for a leg kick but Killa is out of range and Haynes settles back down.
Killa misses with a looping left.

Killa takes the fight into the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Haynes is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.
Killa tries for a takedown. No joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kris Killa dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Haynes missing with a left hand there. Killa was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Good leg kick by Haynes there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Haynes listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Haynes takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Good exchange - Haynes coming out on top.
Haynes fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Killa.
Brandon Haynes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Haynes throws a combination. Killa tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Killa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Haynes.
Haynes takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


Killa is rocked!
Haynes fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Killa to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Killa looks to clinch but Haynes throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Killa taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Brandon Haynes!
Brandon Haynes is the new featherweight champion!
