Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rollo Smek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smek shoots in for a takedown but Shaw shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Smek throws a right and a left that both miss.
Smek fails with a takedown attempt.
Smek avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Smek uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shaw.
Smek tries for a takedown but Shaw sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jared Shaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rollo Smek.
Shaw jabs at Smek's body.
Shaw misses with a looping right.
Smek defending well as Shaw loads up on a big left hand.
Shaw tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smek was well out of range. Poor timing from Shaw.
Smek wants to clinch.

Smek shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smek showed some decent athleticism there.
Smek passes the guard and advances to mount!

Shaw is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Shaw is squirming around, avoiding Smek's attempts to control the action.
Shaw wants to hold on but Smek pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shaw is trying to escape the mount.
Smek controlling the pace for now.
Shaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smek on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Smek can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shaw is looking to escape.
Smek wants to take Shaw's back here but Shaw is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Smek tries to control but Shaw wriggling away.
Shaw on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shaw tries to get out of the position.
Smek might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shaw kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Shaw tries to hold on but Smek pushes him away.
Smek is looking to work his way around to Shaw's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Smek controlling the pace for now.
Shaw is trying desperately to improve position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Smek moves to back control.

Smek is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Shaw has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Smek has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Shaw taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Smek doesn't care though - he's delighted!
