PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Le Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Le Banner comes to the cage accompanied by Bomfunk MC's - Freestyler. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel tries to clinch up.

It looks like Jerome Le Banner has been cut.
Le Banner stuns Steel with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Le Banner avoids a kick to the body.
Le Banner ducks under a wild hook from Steel.
Le Banner avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Le Banner scores with a three punch combo!
Le Banner throws a nice looking combination but Steel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Steel tries to close the distance and clinch but Le Banner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Le Banner closes the distance and clinches up with Steel, looking for a takedown. Le Banner pushes Steel against the cage but Steel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Le Banner stalks Steel and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Steel's face. Steel staggers backwards, shaken.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Steel closes the distance and clinches.

Steel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Le Banner shoots in but Steel avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Oh Le Banner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Le Banner avoids the body shot from Steel.
Le Banner seems to have got his legs back now.

Steel lands with a kick to the temple. Le Banner shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Steel looks for the body kick but Le Banner saw that one coming.
Steel tries to clinch there but Le Banner circles away.
Le Banner swats away the attempt to clinch by Steel.
Steel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Steel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Steel bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Le Banner's head.
Steel lands a big head kick that sends Le Banner to the canvas! Steel follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
