Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colt Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ezra Kazee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kazee is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fanfare for the Common Man. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Carter lands.
Kazee tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Carter closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kazee did well to prevent Carter getting side control.
Kazee is staying active underneath Carter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Carter is working for a submission of some sort.
Kazee blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carter.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter works his way into side control.

Carter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Kazee tries to improve position but can't.

Carter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kazee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kazee is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Carter has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Carter goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kazee rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Carter's guard! Nice work there by Kazee!
Kazee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Carter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Carter wants to sweep here but Kazee controlling him for the moment.
Carter is breathing heavily.

Kazee tries to stand but Carter is controlling from the bottom.

Kazee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Carter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kazee is one step ahead there.
Kazee wants to stand but Carter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kazee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kazee has managed to get both his arms back between Carter's legs - danger averted.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kazee gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Colt Carter dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kazee dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Carter. That did some damage!

Kazee throws a series of punches but Carter moves out of range.
Carter fails with a takedown attempt.
Kazee throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like Colt Carter has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kazee lands a nice looking body shot.
Carter takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Kazee! Carter is out on his feet! Kazee rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Carter is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Carter is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
