Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Pitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Howards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pitt comes into the arena with Break Stuff blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Benny Howards!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howards throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Howards tries to close the distance and clinch but Pitt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pitt circles away from the clinch attempt.
Howards tests Pitt's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Howards throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pitt has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Jake Pitt has been cut.
Howards waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pitt.
A slapping leg kick lands for Pitt.
Pitt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Howards.
Howards looks to throw the jab but Pitt is out of range.
Howards listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Howards misses with a low kick as Pitt jumps back.
Pitt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Nice sprawl there from Pitt as Howards shoots in.

Howards lands a nice looking body shot.
Howards fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Howards lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pitt circles away quickly and effectively.
Pitt throws a sloppy head kick and Howards moves out of range easily.
Howards tries to clinch up but Pitt circles away and keeps his distance.
Howards takes a swing at Pitt's ribcage but misses.
Howards swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Howards throws a nice looking combination but Pitt bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Howards throws a head kick but Pitt moves out of range.
Nice body punch from Howards.
Pitt is breathing heavily.
Pitt lands with a slapping head kick.
Howards goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Pitt stuffs the takedown.
Jake Pitt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benny Howards.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Howards.
Pitt throws a head kick that misses.
Benny Howards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Howards lands a nice hook to Pitt's body. Pitt takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Howards throws a sloppy head kick and Pitt moves out of range easily.
Jake Pitt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Howards swings for the body but Pitt moves out of range.

Howards closes the distance and clinches.
Howards wants to break free but Pitt has control.
Pitt has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Howards avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Pitt has Howards pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Howards manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Howards throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Pitts head.

Howards breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Howards connects with the punch.
A cross from Howards lands.
Howards tries to clinch but Pitt moves out of range.
Howards tries to bum rush Pitt with a series of wild strikes but Pitt uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Howards lands with a nice combination. Pitt backs away looking to recover.

Howards looks to land a combination. Pitt sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Howards connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pitt's hands.
Howards lands a head kick. Pitt smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Pitt is rocked!
Howards cracks Pitt with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Pitt falls to his knees and Howards doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
