PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clark Soares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafal Piotrowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soares comes to the cage accompanied by Eye of the Tiger. The key to victory for Clark Soares has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clark Soares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rafal Piotrowski!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soares leaves Piotrowski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Soares looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Soares closes the distance and pushes Piotrowski back into the cage.
Soares prevents the takedown attempt.

Piotrowski has Soares pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Piotrowski pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Soares tumbling to the mat - Piotrowski dives into Soares's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Piotrowski drops back looking for a leg! Soares is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Soares manages to kick Piotrowski off! Piotrowski jumps back into Soares's guard.
Soares is looking to stand up but Piotrowski isn't so interested in that idea.

Piotrowski won't allow Soares to get back to his feet.

Piotrowski drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Soares manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Piotrowski has Soares in his guard.

Piotrowski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Soares can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Piotrowski is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Piotrowski has his foot on Soares's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Soares works his way back into a safe position though.

Soares is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Piotrowski looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Soares is defending well. Piotrowski quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Soares has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Piotrowski celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
