The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Jones looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Shain slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
Jones thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jones goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
It looks like Justice Jones has been cut.
Shain moves out of range of the strikes.

Shain tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Shain lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.

Justice Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Shain cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
Shain has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Shain is retaining full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Shain holds on and takes a little breather.

Shain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Shain is retaining full guard.
Jones postures up in Shain's guard and throws a big left but Shain blocks it.

Shain utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jones shoots in but Shain avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Shain slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
Shain throws a wild body kick that Jones sees coming a mile off.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Shain.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
A swing and a miss from Shain.
Jones tries for a takedown but Shain sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
M J Shain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justice Jones.
Shain takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Jones buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones throws a strike but Shain rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Justice Jones will probably get the nod.

Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shain tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shain to the ground. Shain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jones throws and low kick but Shain moves out of range easily.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shain uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jones.
Jones scores with a spinning back kick!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shain closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Jones misses with a combination
and Shain counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jones gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Jones misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shain gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Jones throwing strikes from guard but Shain blocks nicely.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Shain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Jones thows a big elbow that misses.
Shain is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.
Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jones wants to control from the top but Shain keeps moving.
Jones throws and elbow that misses. Shain uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jones's guard. Nice move by Shain!
Shain stops Jones from standing up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jones misses with a double jab
and Shain counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jones scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Jones takes one to the chin there.
That has opened up Justice Jones's cut even more.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Shain.
