The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman misses with a body kick.
Roman throws a right hand that Gardens ducks under and follows up with a left that Gardens also avoids with ease.
Roman misses with a head kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gardens.
Roman is pushing Gardens's head away, looking to escape. Gardens manages to hold on to the position though.
Roman is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Gardens cracks Roman with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Roman tries to escape but Gardens is in control.

Gardens throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Gardens tries to move into full mount but can't pass Roman's legs.
Gardens connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Roman some visible discomfort.
Roman is trying to get back to his feet.

Gardens is working to tighten is grip on Roman's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Roman has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gardens is really squeezing tight and eventually Roman passes out! Gardens breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
