The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
jackson thows a body shot but no joy.
No luck with that takedown attempt from jackson.
jackson misses with a double jab.

jackson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Santos's guard.
Santos keeping full guard, as jackson tries to pass.
jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
jackson throws a strike but Santos rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
jackson wants to stand up but Santos is controlling him.
jackson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Santos passes jackson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Santos wants to lay and pray for a moment but jackson keeps working.
jackson pushes Santos off looking to stand but Santos dives back in and keeps control.

Santos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Santos stops jackson from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
jackson looks gassed!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Santos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santos wants it to stay on the feet.
Santos lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Santos looks to land a combination but jackson avoids it well.
Santos throws a nice looking combination but jackson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Steve Santos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Santos scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
